Biology Degree
The biology program at Gwynedd-Mercy College is an integrated course of study which is molecularly focused with a strong emphasis on molecular and cellular biology, genetics, and biochemistry. GMC's biology students gain a broad-base in the physical sciences with required coursework in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Students who graduate from GMC with a biology degree automatically earn a minor in chemistry.
GMC's biology program provides state-of-the-art laboratory training in current technology that is applicable to research in a graduate program and at biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Students must conduct research as part of the requirement in the biology program, which gives students practical, hands-on research experience that is critical for future employment or graduate study.
